At the end of the day, our minds can be racing so much that we just can't sleep. It's just full of ideas and should's. It can drive us crazy, because all we want to do is sleep! All of these things just keep adding up in our mind.
Society and even medical research suggests that the definition of nighttime is you should be sleeping X amount of minutes, hours. It helps you be less stressful and digest your food better and all these things. Sure. But that doesn't need to dictate every night of your life.
There are going to be times that you may have ideas that just need to get out. And you go to bed a little later. Oh well!
Don't add more to the story by insisting that you should not have a racing mind. Because the fact of the matter is, that night, you have a racing mind.
So what are you gonna do about it?
The best thing to do is let go of your need to control the moment of your thoughts: If I didn't have so many thoughts, then I would be sleeping. Let go of that story.
If it's one of those nights where you choose to not listen to it, that you really don't want to stay up until 2am kind of sorting out all this new ideas that you have, you can just search up "sound bath music tracks" and listen to those. The sounds all you to let go of your racing mind.
Give that a try. And let me know how it goes. You can either post how it goes in the comments below, or you can hop into my Facebook group called The Nourishing Nook, and join that group. And let me know in there. You'll be connected to other women who want to be guided by their heart and their intuition and not dictated by science or society's definition of what nighttime or your life should be.
